France’s Private Jet Tax (Effective March 2025)

Private jet travellers departing from French airports will pay between €210 and €2,100 per passenger in new taxes. France has introduced a new tax on private jet departures from its airports, aimed at addressing budget deficits and promoting more eco-friendly travel.How the Tax Works

Based on Distance and Aircraft Type: The amount charged depends on the distance of the flight and the type of aircraft used.

Medium Distance (1,000–5,500 km)	€675 per passenger	€1,015 per passenger
Long-Haul (5,500+ km)	€1,025 per passenger	€2,100 per passenger

VAT Rules: A 10% value-added tax is applied to domestic flights, but international flights are exempt.
Who It Applies To: All unscheduled private flights leaving French airports, including empty repositioning flights, are subject to this tax.
Responsibility: Private jet companies are now required to collect and pay the tax. Failure to do so could result in penalties.
